location: tucumcari, nm. quay county
date: 1968-1970
time: 7:30 pm
sighting: I am 37 now, this incident occurred when I was somewhere between the ages of 8 and 10. I am sketchy
on the details of what was going on in the household at the time but I saw two lights like car headlights in the
southern sky they just hung there. I thought it was a plane at first but when the lights did not move I realized
that they were something more. I went into the house and got my dad to come and look. He came outside with me but
he being ever the skeptic he blew it off.
I must have gone inside the house for a few minutes because tne next time I saw them the light on the right side
had descended below the left one at a 45 degree angle hanging about an equal distance between the ground and the
left light. There is no memory of anything after that. I don't recall any mention of this in the local paper, surely
I am not the only person in Tucumcari that witnessed this.
