sighting: After hearing about the strange sightings near Brown Mountain in the eastern hills of North Carolina over the past 100 years, I decided to see for myself if anything could really be seen. I had just gotten out of the Army at Ft. Bragg, NC, and was on my way home to CA. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was certainly not disappointed! The first thing I noticed in the valley before me was a green fireball about the size of a baseball held at arm's length. It just appeared and then travelled very slowly in a straight horizontal line from left to right for about 4 seconds and vanished as quickly as it had appeared, and there was no noise. Not long afterwards, I noticed a soft glow of white light in some tall shrubbery about 200 yards away. It looked as though there was a beam of white light coming from within the glow but rotating around its axis in a 45-degree angle; again no noise. It too faded after awhile. Off in the distance about 10 miles away and above the forested hilltops, I could see

Steve if you read this my son used Internet Mail to read the e-mail. I found just recently this was a big mistake. Internet mail will cut off the message when it is long. From now on I will only read my e-mail with Netscape Mail. I get any message despite the length. If you send in another report I will update your sighting.
