I was with my mother and two cousins in downtown Eugene
in a parking lot at Winchells Donuts. My older cousin
had went in to get donuts. My mother was looking up out
of the car at the sky, she got out of the car. The younger
cousin and I about 9 or 10 yrs old at the time were
playing in the back seat. My mom told us to get out of the
car Get out here and look at this. I remember she had a
really weird look on her face and it kind of scared me. We
got out and looked up the object was only about a half
mile up and straight out in front of us about a block away.
It was huge I would guess about the 1 1/2 times the size of
a football field. I could see it very clear it was saucer
shaped silver with a row of square lights all the way
around the middle. It made no sound. It was completely
still hovering. It appeared to be rotating very slowly. It
began to move off slowly. It made a circle around maybe a
mile or so and then returned to its original position. My
cousin and I started joking about the aliens coming to get
us. My mom whispered at us to shut up and watch. It
hovered there for another minute or so and then it shot up
and off at such a high rate of speed that it was out of
sight within a half second. It was a very populated area
at an early hour in the evening. Someone else must have saw
something. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
