Sighting
This sighting is not as detailed as my previous one seen
in Hobbs NM, but strange nonetheless.
i was on a flight from Des Moines to Dallas, and on approach
for landing, we almost rear-ended another plane because of
the heavy fog and snow. so i was already shaken up when i
witnessed this.
after trying to calm down from the near miss, it was on the
segment of the flight from wichita kansas to dallas texas
that i looked out the window to the west and saw a light at
approximately wing level, but far off from us. it was bright
and yellowish-orange, and i realized that there was no
reason for a light of that sort to be at that altitude.
i watched it for some time and realized that it was staying
in my field of vision, as if following the plane. then it
started flying vertically up and down, while still
maintaining its speed with the plane. it did this
simultaneously.
it wasn't going away, and i got freaked out enough to stop
watching it. it was like it was playing with us. i didn't
think it was funny. i was going to ask the man next to me
if he could see it too, but he was asleep.
it has gotten to the point where i'm afraid to look into the
sky at night for fear of seeing something.
