It was submitted by () on Thursday, February 19, 1998 at 20:14:12 location: Central, New Jersey date: 02-18-98 time: 8PM sighting: At approximately 8:00 PM, a pulsating, greenish "light" appeared above by backyard. This was accompanied by a muffled pulsating hum. The green blob of light grew rapidly as the humming increased and then the entire area behind my house was engulfed in the green light. At the moment the light "exploded" over our house, all electrical, lighting, TV, phones, etc went dead. My wife and baby were screaming in the other room and I was running to find them in the dark. In the few seconds it took me to reach the other room, the green light had disappeared and all electricity was restored. I called my neighbors and they reported seeing and hearing the same thing. I immediately called the local township police and was told that a car had hit a power line and that's what caused the green glow. I don't think so. There are no power lines or transformers wihin a mile of my home. (We are fed by underground cables.) If there was, for the sake of argument such a collision, wouldn't we have heard the crash and the emergency and police vehicles arriving? Nothing. Just silence after the glow dissapated. After experiencing this episode, my wife and I are convinced of two things: 1.We saw "something" unusual, 2.The police ain't telling the real story. If your group has observed anything of a similar nature on this date and time, I would be interested in reading about it. This was definitely not an electrical transformer blowing.
