It was submitted by () on Saturday, April 4, 1998 at 12:44:04 location: Columbia, South Carolina date: March 10, 1998 time: 7:00P.M. sighting: My two daughters and I were driving on I26 and saw a bright white light in the distance. As we drove toward it, it appeared to be hovering over the highway and after a minute or two, we drove directly under it. It was enormous, and shaped like a diamond with bright white lights on the 4 points and dimmer white lights along each side. We pulled off to have a better look and when we did, it slowly started to move away to the west/northwest. It also had lights on the top which were shining up. It was such a strange sighting, we couldn't understand why no one else was pulling off to get a look at it.
