It was submitted by () on Sunday, February 22, 1998 at 01:16:23 location: Dublin/Ireland date: Jan. 4, 1998 time: 9:30 pm sighting: It had appeared to be a star in the sky but then all of a sudden it began to move. My sister and I were driving back to Dublin after the weekend break. The object continued to move in the sky at high speed heading in the opposite direction to which we were travelling. At first I thought it was our position in relation to what looked like a bright star,but this object was not only moving, it was making manuevers that would be impossible for any aircraft used in Ireland. The object then turned a bright reddish color and then dissappeared completely. Shortly afterwards while still driving on the dual carriageway into Dublin,we saw a small round object, which seemed to take on the same color as the lights that illuminated the freeway,travel at high speed only metres away from our car.It again disappeared instantly without trace of where it was heading.
