location: Farmerville,Louisiana
date: May-July 1972
time: 10:00pm
sighting: This was a long time ago but a very valid sighting because of the source...J___ M_______ is NOT a
believer but she saw what she could not explain away and was afraid to tell anyone (esp. her husband) for fear
of being disbelieved and generaly "What will people think of me..etc"
She was sitting on the deck of their summer home on Lake DeArbeau on the Louisiana/Arkansas border later one evening
on a clear and star lit night... what she saw she thought was a star...then a shooting star ...but then it darted
from one position to another ...then was stationary for say 15 sec. not moving at all then it zoomed off in a flash
in an opposite direction from which it came and disappeared. It wasn't close enough to see the detail, shape or
separated lights .
Why do I believe her...she was an intelligent (graduate of Purdue University) strong minded, factual not fantasy
type individual...she was mature and responsible...she confided in me only and swore me to tell no one... "They
will think I'm nuts!" or tease me esp. Jim (her husband) I didn't until now ever tell this to anyone...the
lady is my mother, she is now 87 years old and has Alzheimer's so I think its okay that I "tell"...the
year was 1972 and it was during the summer but the exact date I don't know. I told her then that I believed that
she had seen a UFO for sure and that I believed it to be from another world because we didn't have that technology
with aircraft...she said that it went WAY too fast besides..we agreed in the end and then just let it go. She seemed
satisfied that she was able to tell someone who believed she saw what she saw..I just wish I'd been there to see
it too.
