It was submitted by () on Thursday, April 23, 1998 at 11:55:13 location: Ridgecrest, CA. date: Oct, 1991 time: 9 pm sighting: Me and a friend were talking outside my sisters house, which is on the outskirts of the town, and about 500 feet from us it was geting foggy. I noticed a ball of light coming from a burnt down house down the road a little bit from us and I pointed it out to my friend and said lets go see what that is. She did not want to go so I went myself. I thought it was some kids with a flash light and it was hitting the fog and just looked like a ball of light but as I got closer to it I could not understand what it could be. It was just there, a ball of light. I have thought about this almost everyday since it happened. Something else has happened to me that I can not explain. It happened on the China Lake Nave Base that is next to Ridgecrest, Ca. I was working as a contract security officer for the navel base and I was gaurding an object in a remote location. I had a small trailer to sit in and it was a 12 hour watch. Sometime during my shift I went out to make my rounds It was a night shift and it was pitch black outside and I was standing out side and a extra bright beam of light that hit me and scared me half to death. It was only on me a few seconds and it turned off and then I saw a helecopter hovering above me and the person inside it turn on a light in side the helecopter and I could see him laughing as if he scared me as a joke. I don't remember any thing after that, ie. the helecopter leaving. What I don't understand is when I saw the man in the helecopter he was to close to me. The helecopter was about 200 feet up , my memory of the pilot was like he was right next to me. During this event I did not hear a sound. I am a little concerned about telling you about this since it happened on a military base. This happened while I was working for a company called Day & Zimmermann. 1993 or 1994.
