Location: Lowry Air Force Base-Denver Colorado
Date: Late 1956, early 1957
Time: Early AM
Sighting: I had late night duty at Lowry AFB, Denver Colorado.
(I think I
was on the Aurora side of the base.) I happened to look up and
saw, as I
recall, 5 to 7 glowing orangeish-red objects suspended motionless
some
distance away. I could not identify any particular formation,
nor could
I detect any motion. I observed these for 10-15 minutes, then
went into
the barracks and woke a friend of mine, and we observed them
together for
some 10 more minutes. They had not changed position. We finally
went to
bed. The following morning, the newspaper (Denver Post??) reported
weather balloon sightings over Lowry AFB. I didn't belive it
at the time
and I still don't.
Lowry, at the time was a training facility for weapons
maintainence-including the rumored "Black Hanger" for
nuclear stuff. I
had a "Secret" Clearance, and at the time decided not
to pursue the
matter any further-We WERE in the middle of a Cold War, you know.
I would like to know if any one else spotted these same ufo's
around the
same time frame and place.
