It was submitted by () on Friday, April 17, 1998 at 04:35:57 location: Saint Augustine, FL USA date: 11-11-97 time: 430-500PM sighting: I had spent the day in St Aug and was on my way back to Orlando, when an orange flame appeared in the sky...I thought it was a rocket or space shuttle, because I've seen those and that's what it looked like. It started in the east & went westward...I thought I was seeing things, but I noticed 2 guys in a driveway watching it too... I called Canaveral, Patrick Air Force base... whoever I could think of...I was told there wasn't any activity but that they had received a few calls, one was all the way in Tampa...I even called Colorado, because there's a station there that monitors "space junk" like meteors, and stuff....they didn't have any record of it... I don't know what I saw...but it was something.
