It was submitted by () on Sunday, March 8, 1998 at 04:17:23 location: springfield mo usa date: summer of 91 time: between 8&10 pm sighting: Well, it was a hot summer night when I was driving down F highway. I had my windows down, because the air did not work in my car. About 100 yards from M highway I heard this howling noise. I pulled over and listened to see what it was, thinking the car was messed up. When I got out all I could hear in every direction was dogs howling as if in some kind of pain. A bright flash caught the corner of my eye off to the south. When I turned to look all I saw was the trees lighting up away from me, as if it was moving away quickly. Then the dogs stopped, I got back in my car and drove on. I believe there was somthing in the newsleader the next day about quite a few people calling it in. I thought nothing of it at the time, but it was still pretty strange nonetheless.
