name: anonymous
location: Mt. Shasta, California
date: Summer 1974
time: afternoon
sighting: In my sighting of 1991 previously reported I saw in the air something similar to what could have made
a print that I saw in the snow at Bunny Flats on Mt Shasta which is about 6 to 7000 ft up Mt. Shasta on Everritt
memorial Hwy. I went for a walk alone in the snow on a cold day in May 1974. I walked straight up Bunny Flats toward
the top of the mountain. I walked about a mile up a valley past Bunny Flats. On my way back down to my car I noticed
something odd in the snow. At first I thought it was made by someone driving in a circle with a snowmobile but
upon closer inspection I saw that there were no snowmobile tracks leading to this spot or away from it and that
it looked fresh and there weren't any human tracks in the circle. I paced it off and it was about 25 to 30 feet
in diameter. It appeared to have three landing pods in the bottom center of the impression. They were three hemispheres
the kinds one would get if three spheres about 3 feet in diameter each were pushed into the snow halfway in perfect
triangulated precision. To top it all off there was something that looked like green antifreeze with black streamers
in it that looked a lot like algae that covered the upper one foot of the print in a complete circle. The combination
of elements made me realize that it was extremely unlikely that this was made by humans on foot, on snowmobiles
or on skis.
To reproduce this effect someone would have had to have brought a template and hung it from a helicopter but even
this outlandish notion would have been impossible on that overcast and dreary day. The clouds so near to the ground
would have prevented a helicopter from safely navigating in that weather. I went to town and got my wife and a
friend and brought them to the site. Though they were as amazed as I they concluded that this may have been made
by a UFO. Ten years later I spoke with a retired US Army Colonel and he asked me why I didn't report this to the
government. I told him I didn't want to be ridiculed . I think it is very important that people know these things
are real .
