Time: Early morning hours
Location: Artesia, New Mexico
Witnesses: Three city police officers
In the early morning hours in 1973 three Artesia police officers were called to the intersection of First St.
and Main St. This was reference to strange lights following the railroad tracks coming from the south going north.
The informant I talked to said he saw what looked like three balls of fire; orange in color and round aprroximatly
five feet above the railroad tracks. He said they were traveling at a very high rate of speed, were completly silent
and were like a blurr when they passed them. These objects continued to follow the tracks north. No one was ever
able to explain just what these objects were.
