sighting: During the summer of 1991, some friends and I spent a weekend at a cabin in western Maryland. Shortly
after nightfall, several of us were sitting around a bonfire talking when suddenly a white, blinking light appeared
hovering in the sky above and behind us. The object was about 100 yards away and did not move for 10 or 15 seconds.
I remember looking at my friends and noticing a "strobe" effect; we were bathed in blinking, flashing
light. Without warning, the object flew about three miles away in a millisecond and stopped on a dime above a nearby
mountain ridge. There was no accelleration or decelleration. One moment it was virtually motionless and the next
it was flying impossibly fast. The object hovered above the ridge for a moment, still blinking at us, and then
flew quickly out of view. I'm no pilot, but it seems obvious that modern-day conventional aircraft are not equipped
to move this way, and if they did, everyone onboard would be tossed around like ragdolls and probably killed. Anyway,
I'll never forget the experience. It made me a believer.
